Flawed for remote use

Not being in a constant wifi environment, I need to "download for off-line reading". Which works very badly if at all. Often it will be 2/3,of the way and if interrupted I have to restart. More often it just doesnt appear to have worked at all. And it takes so long that you need to find some other significant task to do while waiting, though due to iOS background limitations (maybe), not read another news source like Washington post which will download automatically when idle. Of course I am back East so maybe the service isnt supposed to work, but I will miss having a solid source of West Coast media.
